A powerhouse Italian wine, the Salviano Turlo is the Umbrian answer to a Super Tuscan. A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this full-bodied red shows complex, and intense ripe fruit aromas. The Salviano estate occupies 4,940 acres located on the banks of the Tiber River in the heart of the Orvieto, about an hour drive north of Rome. Salviano is part of the Titignano estate, a much larger property under the same ownership, located across the lake in the medieval village of the same name. If this name sounds at all familiar, the Salviano property is owned by Incisa della Rocchetta family, owners of legendary Sassicaia. Extensive renovations, including a rebuilt wine cellar and newly planted vineyards of indigenous and international varieties have contributed to the success of Tenuta di Salviano.
