Block Wines
WHAT'S THE STORY?
 Grapes grow on the vine to be picked in the early fall. Every year we send Buyers to Napa & Sonoma that have established relationships with some of the finest wineries in California.
If the winery needs storage space, empty barrels for the new vintage, or they just need immediate cash, they welcome our visit. They don't like to sell their wine to us because we will not pay their asking price. We taste, negotiate, and decide what, if anything, we want to buy.
Part of the deal is always the same. We are not allowed to reveal the name of the winery. They don't want our label riding on the reputation of their main label. The wine is then bottled under the BLOCK label. The wine must be an exceptional value and from a sub-appellation. Each lot receives a 3 digit designation. The 1st digit represents the sub-appellation. The next 2 digits represent the lot ##.
Once the 3 digit labeled Block wine is sold out, there will be no more, that's a guarantee.
