Domaine de Cristia was established in 1942 with only 2 hectares of Grenache vines. Brother and sister team, Baptiste and Dominique Grangeon are now running the winery, and they have 13 hectares of vines in Chateauneuf du Pape spread over four different lieu-dits. 90% of the vines are in the lieu-dits named "Cristia," hence the name of the estate Domaine de Cristia. Their Syrah and Mourvedre average 50 years-old and they have some Grenache that is over 100 years-old. The estate has been certified organic since 2008.
"Starting with the classic 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape, it has a big, juicy, jammy nose of red and black fruits, licorice, pepper, and candied violets as well as a layered, medium to full-bodied, mouthfilling style on the palate. This cuvée always brings the fruit, but in 2019 it also has freshness and elegance." Jeb Dunnuck, 91-93 Points
