Fans of rich, full-bodied California Cabernet Sauvignon will flip over the latest 91 point vintage of the High Valley Stage 1871. Located two hours north of San Francisco, the High Valley AVA sits at 3,000 feet above sea level with a ring of mountains surrounding a volcanic valley. This Cabernet Sauvignon was inspired by the homestead settlers who found their way to California by stage coach. To this day, the 1871 “High Valley Stage” Road, which brought many settlers to Lake County, runs through the Shannon Ridge Mountain Estate Vineyards. Full-bodied and silky, with flavors of cherries, plum and spice, this wine celebrates the adventurous spirit of that time. Sold at the winery for $40 a bottle!
"Supple with a generous amount of dark fruit flavors. Blackberry, dark berry, plum and cherry are followed by sage notes, cedar and spice. Graceful and silky with a long finish." The Wine Buyer, 91 Points
