Founded by the owners of Domaine de Chevalier & Stephane Derenoncourt, one of the top winemakers in France, the Lune d'Argent is no ordinary Bordeaux Blanc. Located a stone's throw from famed Chateau d’Yquem, this dry white from Sauternes is quickly becoming a benchmark in the under $20 category. Sourced from an ancient vineyard of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, it showcases huge aromas of juicy green apples, white flowers, and ripe peach. Featured by Wine Spectator last week for holiday dining, this light-bodied and elegantly textured effort is a masterpiece under $20 a bottle.
"The 2021 Lune d'Argent, picked September 13 to October 4, has an understated bouquet of citrus peel, petrichor and linden scents that unfurl nicely in the glass. The palate is saline on the entry, displaying fine acidity, touches of orange peel and spice, and good density on the oyster-shell-tinged finish.
