Almost everyone has heard of the phrase "Super Tuscan," a term coined by Robert Parker in the 1970's but have you ever heard of a Super Venetian? One of our top selling Italian wineries is Tinazzi from the northern Italian wine region of the Veneto. It carries an IGT designation, hence Super Venetian, and is a blend of two international varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot! A bit more fruit forward than the Tuscan version of Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, think Argentiera or Ornellaia. The Dugal clocks in at 15.0% but does not feel heavy or hot, just vibrant and modern with huge aromatics and lush fruit notes.
