If there is one name in Burgundy synonymous with superlative, long-lasting Chablis then it is undoubtedly William Fevre. So how did he get to San Luis de Pirque, Chile? Fevre was hunting for terroir to produce Chardonnay outside of France. When he arrived in South America, he thought it odd the Chilean wine producers grew fruit down on the flat lands and he sought a parcel up higher in the mountains. He partnered with Victor Pino Torche, who owned vineyards on the banks of the Maipo River, and began crafting wines in a Burgundian style, slowly, on a smaller scale, barrel by barrel.
"Made by William Fevre in a Burgundian style, this elegant high elevation Pinot Noir is loaded with bright, spice-tinged red berries and candied flower notes with great energy and dusty tannins. Great value!" The Wine Buyer, 91 Points
